Posted: 6/6/25 . . Park & Recreation Committee Minutes Monday, June 9th, 2025 1. Call Meeting to Order, Roll Call and Pledge to the Flag: Chairman Peter Mark called the meeting to order at 4:58pm. Members present included; Ryan Lipovsek, Carl Jaeger, Chris Griswold, Heather Harris, Rick Ziegler. Town employees; Andrew Beaudette and Ben Degner. 2. Approval of minutes: Harris made a motion to approve the May minutes as presented. Ziegler seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0. 3. Report from Park & Recreation Staff a. Lawn mower: new mower delivered, discussion of selling seat from previous mower b. Summer staff: Dylan & Brayden here and working c. Baseball activity: games are started d. General Update on Parks & Activities: hail damage from recent storm to trucks and roof of building being addressed via insurance carrier; Ben and Andrew will be updated with plan 4. Discussion and possible action on 2025 movie night – August 19 Rain date Aug 26 a. Chip donations – Ryan – done: Need for walking tacos and chips with hot dog. Carl to see about getting donation of buns. Rick to check on volunteers from church for concessions. b. Inform Chivaree on park – done c. Advertising: per bank flyers and signs are being printed; 6:30pm start time 5. Discussion and possible action on Fall Festival Sunday October 26, 2025: Carl will follow up with Fireman’s Association regarding donation. Heather working on list of vendors to be sent of in August (will need someone to take over and manage vendors). Festival runs from 10am-2pm with staff arrival at 8am, costume contest at 1pm (will need to collect prizes for contest winners). Knights Baseball along with Ryan to run concessions. Would like to include the Touch a Truck again this year; need to contact Jefferson County Sherrif Department, Ixonia Fire Department, Flight for Life. 6. Fundraising efforts for playground equipment at Fireman’s Park: continue meetings with Ixonia Bank and letter almost ready for distribution 7. Update, discussion and possible action on filling open Park & Rec Committee positions: Peter has a name of someone with possible interest and will reach out to them in follow up. 8. Review previous months Financial Reports: Reviewed 9. Next meeting date – July 14, 2025 at 5pm 10. Motion to Adjourn: Ziegler made a motion to adjourn at 6:10pm and seconded by Harris. Motion carried 6-0.
