Posted: . Date: . Park & Recreation Committee Minutes Monday, May 12th, 2025 1. Call Meeting to Order, Roll Call and Pledge to the Flag: Chairman Peter Mark called the meeting to order at 4:59pm. Members present included; Ryan Lipovsek, Heather Harris, Rick Ziegler. Town employees; Ben Degner and Andrew Beaudette 2. Approval of minutes: Harris made a motion to approve the April minutes as presented. Ziegler seconded the motion. Motion carried, 4-0. 3. Report from Park & Recreation Staff a. Parks open: Parks are open, water is running. b. Summer staff: No Brandon, will work with Andrew, Brayden and Dylan c. Start of baseball: All teams have started and are working through the new processes. d. Building improvements: Plan to look at dug out roofs in fall, culvert under the pull track to be assessed later with the highway shop. Hardball building ceiling is fixed for now; pieces were cut short. Bobcat; update with negotiations for possible replacement of equipment. Posts are set at Ski Slide park for dugout #3, no roof as of yet. 4. Discussion and possible action on Easter egg Hunt - April 12, 2025 - final review a. Thank you notes sent b. Reassembling eggs: Will check with the church to see if they would be interested in doing it again this year, or consider asking 4-H club. c. Update from Ixonia Fireman’s Association regarding monetary donation: No additional funds are available. Need to consider asking for more money or additional donations for next year. 5. Discussion and possible action on 2025 movie night – August 19 Rain date Aug 26 a. Chip donations – Ryan will take care of b. Inform Chivaree on park – done c. Advertising; discuss with Josh at Ixonia Bank: Gave recommendation of movie choice and can update Ixonia Bank to proceed with advertising per their plan. 6. Fundraising efforts for playground equipment at Fireman’s Park a. Discuss possible partnership with Ixonia Elementary on fundraising; movie night: consider PTO @ school for concessions or church volunteers b. Kickball tournament as possible fundraising idea: Family friendly kickball tournament as fundraiser possibly before Movie Night. Discuss adding to advertising with bank if decide to develop a committee to move forward with tournament. 7. Update, discussion and possible action on filling open Park & Rec Committee positions a. Received 2 applications: Received applications from Carl Jaeger and Chris Griswold to join Park and Rec committee. Mark made a motion to approve the applicants and recommend to Town Board for approval. Lipovsek seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0. b. Received 1 resignation (effective August 2025): Heather Harris has submitted resignation effective August 2025. 8. Review previous months Financial Reports: Reviewed 9. Next meeting date – June 09th, 2025 at 5pm 10. Motion to Adjourn: Harris made a motion to adjourn @ 5:40pm and seconded by Ziegler. Motion carried 4-0.
