November 19, 2024
The Mishicot Village Board meeting was called to order by President Samz at 6:00 PM at the Mishicot
Village Hall. Roll call indicated Boettcher, Ferry, Franz, Kliment, Rezek and Samz were present. Clerk Stiefvater,
Chief Granger, John Tulachka, Lorelai Rezek, Daniel & Allison Butler, Lee Engelbrecht, George Krause and Eric Fowle
were also present. Trustee Becker was absent and excused.
President Samz led everyone in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.
A motion was made by Trustee Kliment to approve the November 5, 2024 meeting minutes as presented,
seconded by Trustee Ferry. All in favor, motion was carried.
Lee Englebrecht gave an update on the 2025 County Budget that passed. Employees got a 2% increase in
salaries and the ½ cent increase sales tax will be effective January 2025.
Daniel and Allison Butler were looking for an exception to the fence ordinance to put a fence on their
property without doing the 18” setback the ordinance requires. The ordinance doesn’t currently allow for
exceptions, they were requesting the board change the ordinance to allow for exceptions. The board informed
Daniel and Allison they would need to pay for all the meetings to have the ordinance changed as they are the ones
petitioning it. Eric Fowle from Cedar Corp (Zoning Administrator) explained why it is not recommended to change
the ordinance to allow exception to build on property lines. He noted other communities have setbacks and do not
allow on fences on property lines. There are some communities that allow it on property lines but that is mostly in
the bigger communities. At this time, no changes will be made to the fence ordinance.
Allison Butler also informed the board the MBA and Magic are in discussion of potentially putting in
benches around the village and redoing village signs.
George Krause gave an update on the Dunns Property that is still for sale, there will be more discussion at
the next regular board meeting.
Chief Granger gave an update on police department activities. He noted that Pumpkinfest went really well
with no issues. He also noted Halloween went well, they handed out 800 pieces of candy within an hour.
DPW John Tulachka reported that the new house on Willow Dr has sold and the builder asked if the village
would do a cost sharing on a fence because its along village property. There was some discussion, no action taken.
President Samz introduced general fund claims in the amount of $27,706.65, water utility fund claims in the
amount of $282.40 and sewer utility fund claims in the amount of $5,594.57 for board action. A motion was made
