Special Town Board Meeting — Agenda

SPECIAL Meeting AGENDA FOR TOWN OF MANITOWOC September 22, 2026 The Town board of the Town of Manitowoc will meet at 6:00 PM, on September 22, 2026 to evaluate the two bids for snow plowing in the southern portion of the Town. The Board will go to each business and interview the owners of the business. The following questions will be asked to help evaluate each candidate. Does the bidder have the equipment large enough to handle the job? Does the bidder have enough equipment, in case of breakdowns, to handle the job? Does the bidder have a means to handle large snow falls that may require widening of the plowed path or pushing back ridges at the edge of the roadway? Does the bidder have a means to apply liquid chemicals for ice or snow melt? Does the bidder have a means to apply abrasives such as salt or sand to the roadway? How does the bidder determine when liquids or abrasives should be used? Does the bidder have experience plowing town roads or county highways? Does the bidder have liability insurance to cover possible damages? Does the bidder have a reliable source for chemicals and abrasives that they may use? How many licensed CDL personnel does bidder have that may operate their equipment? How many years or hours do the drivers have plowing? Do the rate charges in the bid appear to be reasonable? Does the bidder have a contact person in case of emergencies? Does the bidder service other accounts for plowing? How does the bidder determine priority? Does the bidder have any other State or County certifications? Does the bidder have other services the Town may be interested in? What are the bidders billing terms? Weekly, monthly, quarterly, by event? How will the bidder communicate with Town regarding the need to plow? The Board will make a determination bases of the answers to these questions. The successful bidder will be informed of the decision no later then Thursday, September 24, 2026.
