Waste Management Update
Representatives from Waste Management provided an update regarding potential route
modifications within the Town. Waste Management is evaluating a transition to a single
collection day for all Town residents to improve routing efficiency and service consistency. Final
routing decisions remain under review by Waste Management routing analysts.
Residents will be notified by mail at least one month prior to any service day changes, with a
second reminder mailing anticipated approximately two weeks before implementation. Updated
collection schedules will also be posted on the Town website.
Waste Management announced the deployment of its new Smart Truck fleet. These vehicles
feature advanced camera systems, GPS tracking, and collection documentation capabilities. Due
to the use of separate trucks for garbage and recycling collection, residents will observe weekly
garbage collection and recycling collection every other week by separate vehicles.
Residents are reminded to place carts curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection days.
The current Waste Management contract is scheduled for renewal at the end of 2026.
Public Works, Roads, and Signage
Primrose Lane Road Project
The Board discussed plans for the Primrose Lane Road improvement project. The project will
include milling, grading, and paving to a depth of four inches, a roadway width of twenty-two
feet, and two-foot gravel shoulders.
Bid specifications will be published through the state bidding system and other required outlets.
Bids are due by 7:00 p.m. on July 10, 2026, and shall be submitted to the secured mailbox
located at 1805 Lissa Lane. Bids will be opened and reviewed at the July 13, 2026 Board
Meeting.
Ditch Maintenance
Spring ditch cutting is scheduled for late June or early July.
Road Sign Replacement
Several aging and faded road signs were identified throughout the Town. The Board discussed
replacing up to four signs along Goodwin Road. New signs will be constructed of aluminum with
UV-protective coating to improve durability and longevity.
The Board also discussed purchasing additional address markers and roadway length markers for
future use.
Motion made by Supervisor Matt DiMarco and seconded by Supervisor Cody Thiel to approve
replacement of road signage. Motion carried.
Permits and Development
The Board reviewed a conditional use request related to a duplex development on South 15th
Street. County Planning and Zoning officials confirmed that conditional use approvals and
driveway permits will be administered through Manitowoc County.
Town officials offered assistance regarding required signage, addressing, and traffic safety
considerations associated with the development.
The Board also reviewed several building, electrical, and plumbing permits, including a utility
pole replacement project on Simon Road and electrical work associated with a residential garage.
Required inspections will be completed as necessary.
Administration and Office Operations
Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Appointment
Crystal Klosinski has agreed to serve as Deputy Clerk/Treasurer and will begin onboarding and
training activities.
Compensation Discussion
The Board reviewed compensation comparisons from neighboring municipalities and discussed
potential adjustments related to Clerk and Treasurer responsibilities. Further review will occur
regarding hourly versus salaried compensation structures, expected work hours, and budget
impacts before final decisions are made.
Office Equipment
The Board discussed replacing the Town office printer due to age and reliability concerns.
Authorization was granted for the purchase of a replacement printer within the approved budget
range.
Motion made by Supervisor Cody Thiel and seconded by Supervisor Matt DiMarco to purchase a
new office printer. Motion carried.
Nuisance and Zoning Enforcement
The Board discussed resident concerns regarding a local landscaping and nursery operation.
Complaints included the hauling and storage of large quantities of material, early morning and
Sunday work activities, and concerns regarding compliance with previously established
operational limits.
The matter was advised to be referred to Manitowoc County Planning and Zoning for review of
conditional use requirements and site activity.
Department Reports
Constable Report
The Constable reported limited activity during the previous month. Several dead trees were
identified in the South 26th Street and Newton area and will be monitored for potential action.

With no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Kristen Schmidt
