Chairman Pohl addressed the b ody with activity from 2025. He began by hoping
everyone had dried out from all the rain that mother nature has brought and hoped that no
one experienced too much damage. He did report th at Manitou Road had the shoulders
wash out and the north dr iveway culvert off V V at Town Hall/Fire Department . The
county did a temporary repair on Manito u and the culvert and we will be getting estimates
on permanent repairs. We also had another culvert was h out on Hillcrest Road, which is
one of the culverts that will be replaced on a 90/10 state grant program, if the emergency
repairs hold out. There are three other culverts that will be applied for replacement in this
90/10 program. The total cost for the replacement of these 4 culverts is expected to be
$1,746,700.00 of which our portion (10%) will be $174,670.00.
Also, in 2025 we had a n emergency culvert wash out on Hillcrest Road, the county
did emergency repairs and then a permanent repair was done and will be rei mbursed 50%
through Manitowoc County Bridge Aid program.
Chairman Pohl also thanked Dalen Kobes and John LeClair for the outstanding job
they did this winter, keeping our words in good driving condition, especially during the “Big
Blizzard” in mid-March. We also received assistance from Manitowoc County to open up
Hillcrest Road during that March snow.
Road Review was completed and the board is considering chip sealing Woodland
Drive from Jo hnston Drive to Cottage Lane, shim and chip seal Lake shore Road from
Highway V south to Ravine.

The 2025 audit report provided by Hawkins Ash reviewed by Clerk Timm, and she
did advise that the Town remains in good financial shape. Copies of the financial report were
also available at the meeting. Tom Messman questioned the over budgeted amount in the
financials, and it was explained that this was primarily due to the emergency expense paid
on the East Hillcrest culvert washout along with a roof on salt shed.
Chief Leichtfuss reported response to 5 6 calls and thanked the residents for their
support at the brat fry that they held on elections. A mutual aid agreement was entered into
with the City of Two Rivers, which is working very well. Chief Leichtfuss reported that
we had 22 firefighters on the roster, which was down from last year, but that can be attributed
to higher expectations with regard to attending meetings and training, which in turn, benefits
the residents. He reported that they are fundraising for a new jaws unit, which in cludes a
grant application.
Constable Liermann reported responding to approximately 29 calls, ranging from dog
calls to illegal camping, neighbor di sputes, culvert calls along with various training
opportunities.
Recycling Manager Wachholz reported that all is going well with the new service
(GFL/Green For Life). She also announced the clean sweep held by Manitowoc County on
