They explained how the operation functions, their customer service focus, and their proposed contract. Pat pointed out that their competitive costs are not only transparent, but also black and white. What is on the sheet is what the customer pays with no grey area. Pat and Brian left after their presentation. Motion made by Schooley to switch from HydroCorp to Three C’s when the current contract is up in 2027, Second by Becker. Motion carried There is no update on the Zdun well samples. Tom minor sent in proof that his private well has been abandoned. Peter presented a MPW pump maintenance agreement. This covers both lift stations and all pumps. The cost is $2150 per inspection. Motion made by Todd, to move ahead with MPW agreement. Becker second. Motion Carried. Peter had an example of a different cycle for water tower maintenance. He found a company that will do yearly inspections and spread the cost over a 10-year span for all of the work. He can’t guarantee that the cost will be lower as prices fluctuate over 10 years, but it would prevent the water department from paying such a large sum all at once every cycle. This could also assist in catching any issues before they get worse. The commission suggested Peter request a representative come to the next meeting. The commission and Peter discussed adding the booster pump and VFD quotes to the June agenda so Peter can do some more research. Peter then discussed his operational report. He purchased ‘top hats’ to add to the curb stops when they are worked on going forward. This will prevent the burb stops from being hit by snow plows or creating a hazard in driveways. Currently he has some on hand but will order more as needed. During the wind storm on April 17th there was significant damage to the lagoon covers. This included several of them blowing off and a lot of holes and tears. The initial estimate was roughly $55,000 and insurance wont cover all of it. Peter has been looking into a new form of hexagon snap together cover that are cheaper to replace once the large purchase cost is done. He will get an estimate for replacing them all for the next meeting. Future agenda items for June will be Booster pumps and VFD Quotes, Water tower representative and Lagoon hexagon covers. Motion by Becker second by Todd to approve water vouchers #12198-12215 and sewer vouchers #08063-08071. Motion carried. Motion by Jensen second by Swoboda. to adjourn. Motion carried and the meeting was adjourned 6:00PM Submitted by, Angela Krueger, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer
