-CITY OF PITTSVILLE WATER & SEWER COMMISSION Wednesday, April 8, 2026 Council Chambers – 5318 First Ave. Pittsville The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman, Jerry Jensen. Members Present: Deana Becker, Janel Swoboda, and Mark Darr, Dennis Todd Also Present: Peter Petersen, Director of Public Works; Bob Schooley, Council Member No Conflicts of Interest were identified. Motion by Becker, second by Swoboda to approve the minutes from March 11. Motion carried. Angela sent a question on “Clerk List” regarding residents not hooked up to water and/or sewer. Feedback given was consistently that if they are paying the minimum and the fire protection there isn’t much that can be done if not stated in the municipality ordinance. The other common recommendation was to reach out to the health department to ensure health concerns are met. At this time no action was taken. The commission discussed the three private wells that need attention. Tom Minor has been in contact with Angela via e- mail. He sent on 3/29 that his well was “officially condemned” and the well company is handling the paperwork to send to the DNR. She did remind him that the city ordinance also requires a copy of abandonment paperwork within 30 days of completion. Tom was given until 4/1/2026 to abandon his well. If the city is not provided adequate paperwork within the allotted 30 days, the commission will move forward with the daily fines backdated to 4/1/2026. The commission will revisit this next month. Winters well has passed inspection and water safe samples. Darr made a motion to approve private well permit for 5 years. Becker second, motion Carried Zdun is still working on obtaining these things. There was an issue with the sewer from a Ruesch duplex on 6th Ave that Peter brought to the commission last month. When the sewer main is cleaned in May Peter will know more about if Ruesch should be responsible to pay for some of the work depending on how much is actually backing up and what it takes to remove all of the material. This will be revisited after the sewer main is cleaned/televised. Peter then discussed his operational report. He is working on quotes for EP100 from the recent conference as well as quotes for the VFD for wells 9 and 6. He also suggested ordering backup parts to have on hand when they are replaced. This way when things become obsolete, they have parts to work with and repair. Peter suggested waiting to replace the MicroLogix until the newest version price comes down. The commission agreed. The crew will continue to monitor and work with current system. The administrator report was discussed. 1st quarter bills were sent out and are being paid. Future agenda items for May will be Booster pumps and VFD Quotes and Tom Minor well. Motion by Todd. second by Becker to approve water vouchers #12185-12197 and sewer vouchers #08050-08062. Motion carried. Motion by Swoboda second by Becker. to adjourn. Motion carried and the meeting was adjourned 5:25PM Submitted by, Angela Krueger, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer
