Both residents were sent a 30-day notice to have their wells inspected and submitted to the clerk’s office for approval at next month’s meeting. Motion made by Mark D second by Deanna B to make SWDL interest payment of $1967.13. Peter and the commission discussed the wellhead protection plan. Peter stated that private wells within 1200ft of a city well need to show two safe test samples and have their well inspected every 5 years. Peter informed the commission that the 5-year schedule comes from the fact that it takes 5 years for water from the grounds surface to reach the well fractures. This ensures that the city wells water stays at safe nitrate and phosphorus levels for the residents. He also mentioned that there is proven to be direct correlation with the water in the city wells and these private wells. Peter will continue to gather proper documents, and wellhead protection will be added to November’s agenda. Peter informed the commission that we have three remaining residents who are on the list of meter change update for the past 3 years. After reaching out to them, one is scheduled to be changed next week. The other two will receive notice next week that service will be shut off if they don’t contact the city to schedule the change. Peter then discussed his operational report. He stated that during hydrant flushing, it was discovered that a valve is leaking on 6th Ave by Fen Ct. That Valve is to be replaced by the end of the week. Peter also mentioned that the test sample numbers at the plant were good again.
