He also stated that he sent an email to the board members with suggestions to improve next year’s budget process. Joann Walter stated that the Village is one of the highest taxed municipalities. She would like the Village to explore cost efficiencies that have worked elsewhere in Wisconsin. She also mentioned the private road issue and doesn’t like that they pay taxes as well as HOA fees. She would like to commit to good faith dialogue with the Village. Dana Jacobs mentioned a tax-to-service ratio. She is concerned that this topic has been brought up month after month. She is wondering how to impact change and how residents can come up with solutions. She is wondering how the Village can grow and bring in businesses. Mike Beam supports all the comments that have already been made. He believes the Village can pursue cost reduction opportunities by good benchmarking. President’s Report: There will be a “town hall” wake boat meeting scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the John Edwards High School cafeteria. Doors will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. President Mancl stated that the Village of Port Edwards does not have the highest tax rate in Wood County. There are at least four other municipalities with a higher rate. She also stated that the Village does not need a Resolution based off something that is already clearly stated in a boundary agreement that was in place. Spring Election is April 7th. She will be working on committee assignments after the election. Airport Commission: Review of minutes. Nepco Lake District: Review of minutes. Police and Fire Commission: No minutes included.
