PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE BOARD MEETING JANUARY 14, 2026 1301
The Village Board meeting was held at the Marshall Buehler Center and also set up as a Microsoft Teams meeting.
The agenda for this meeting was posted on the Municipal Building door, the entrance of the Police Department/Marshall
Buehler Center, and at Nekoosa Port Edwards State Bank in Port Edwards, as well as on the Village website.

Motion (Zurfluh/Radtke) to approve the Consent Agenda (meeting minutes from December 3, 2025 Board meeting and to
approve monthly bills and the journal entries for the previous month). Motion carried. All ayes .
Public Comment: Larry Isensee expressed his concerns about the taxes to services ratio. He also questioned the budget
process because no one seconded the motions presented at the December meeting. Several Board members stated that it
was too late in the budget process to discuss the motions. He is pleased that the Board mentioned scheduling a committee
of the whole meeting to debrief the budget process and asks that they follow through. There is closure on the road issue but
he would like the Board to address the taxes to services ratio.
Mike Beam stated he is also concerned about the imbalance between the property taxes and services. He believes the
Village has the highest tax rate of all the Wood County municipalities. He feels the Village should create a task force to
reduce costs.
John Wasshausen referred to the latest FHR meeting and stated that no one has ever hinted there is anything “shady” going
on. He asks for a more equitable tax situation for them.
President’s Report: President Mancl stated that she will be working on scheduling a committee of the whole meeting to
debrief the budget process to discuss what works and what does not.
