11-22-2022 special town meeting minutes

The minutes of the Special Town Meeting for the Town Board of Sanborn, Ashland County Wisconsin held November 22nd, 2022. The meeting was called to order at 6:26 p.m. Those in attendance are attached. Luis stated that the electors are to consider the adoption of the resolution to approve the Board salaries with the increase to the Clerk/Treasurer to $35000.00 per year and to consider the adoption of the resolution to approve the 2023 budget and to consider the adoption of the resolution for the Town to exceed the higher tax levy for a total of $181920 plus long term debt of $101406 for a total of $283326. Luis asked if there were any more questions. Jamie stated that some of the Town’s election workers are present to help with the voting and introduced Danielle, Randy and Mary. Luis asked if voting with a show of hands would be ok and the electors said yes. Luis read the resolution for the electors to approve the Board salaries with an increase for the Clerk/Treasurer to $35000 and asked for a motion to approve the resolution as presented. Motion to approve the resolution by Henry Mieloszyk seconded by Joe Bates Luis asked for a vote by hands, 32 votes for and 0 against, motion carried unanimously. Jamie gave the resolution a number #11-22-2022-A. Next, Luis read the resolution for the electors to approve the 2023 budget and asked for a motion to approve. Motion to approve the resolution by Jackie Rose seconded by Allen Kappeler, Luis asked for a vote by hands, 32 votes for and 0 against, motion carried unanimously. Jamie gave the resolution a number 11-22-2022-B. Next, Luis read the resolution for the electors to adopt the Town to exceed the higher tax levy limit for a total town tax of $181920 plus long term debt of $101406 for a total levy of $283326 and asked for a motion to approve. Motion to approve the resolution as presented by Sandy Deragon seconded by Kim Kallio, Luis asked for a vote by hands, 32 votes for and 0 against, motion carried unanimously.
