Library Board Meeting August 25, 2026 Page 1 of 2 REGULAR LIBRARY BOARD MEETING Tuesday August 25th. 2026 5:00 PM Meeting Zoom Minutes Members present: Paula Wurst, Mary Whittaker, Kerrey Andreas, Ellen Troeltzsch Members absent: Monique Darton, Peggy Ross, and Open Member from School District Representative Staff present: Lauren Schuppe, Library Director Public Present: Helen Roland of FriendsCircle Meeting Called to order at 5:10 pm by Paula Wurst I. Public Comment : None II. Minutes a. Regular Library Board Meeting August 4th, 2026 : Motion by Ellen to approve, second by Mary, All Ayes, Motion Carried. III. Financials a. Sign the Directors Timesheets: Motion by Mary to approve, second by Kerrey, All Ayes, Motion Carried. b. Approve Vouchers: Elan Financials $1104.44 Credit Card: includes National Park 50.00 Adobe 137.13 Norvado 597.07 Zoom 179.25 Google 21.00 Canva 119.99 Earth Sense $258.00 Lauren Schuppe $363.30 reimbursement Motion by Kerrey to approve, second by Ellen, All Ayes, Motion Carried. IV. Directors Report Lauren is working with Paul, Recreation Director , with transition to fall/ winter things now that Summer Rec has ended. There have been discussions about a children’s rec program in the off season as well to include child care. Budget season is here, Lauren working with Max and Liz at Town Hall. Budget will be on next agenda for approval, and will include quotes for the capital requests for painting interior walls and replacement flooring on the first floor. Skate Park Grant still in the works, Lauren working on getting a design for a new park. Library Board Meeting August 25, 2026 Page 2 of 2 V. Building Maintenance a. Capital Improvement: discussion on what flooring to have on first floor. Currently carpet squares that need replacing. Unknown what is underneath. VI. Ongoing Projects a. Strategic Plan i. Community Center Collaborative : Lauren still working on the possibility of creating a new Island non-profit to possibly purchase the Bell Street Tavern building. She will work on creating a visual timeline of community center process and discussions from the past and how it has come to where it is now. ii. Little Learners Pace Woods Grant : Lauren will be applying for the grant again this year. Further discussion on possibly adding some other child care/ winter rec opportunities for the younger kids. b. Friends Circle i. Friends Report: Presented by Helen Roland. Updates on the sound garden and ECHOES app, grounds updates, story hour has been well attended. VII.
