Finance Committee — Minutes

FINANCE / PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING – 10/13/2025 2025 Budget Planning The Personnel/Finance Committee meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building. In attendance were President Jerry Sonnenberg & Committee members Nadine Ashworth , Ernie Klicko and Brad Oberbeck. Treasurer Sandy Shawback & Clerk Rebecca Reuter were also in attendance. Approval of September 30th , 2025, Finance Committee meeting minutes. MOTION by Klicko, second by Oberbeck to approve meeting minutes, motion carried. Treasurer Shawback provided a copy of the 2026 preliminary budget that she and Sonnenberg have been working on. Sonnenberg stated that they have now moved almost all the items that were under miscellaneous to the proper area of the expenses. The committee recommends the following updates to the 2026 budget plan: • Licenses/Permits/Building Permits change from $9,000.00 to $12,000.00, so total revenue will be $ 653,954.50 • Attorney Fees down to $13,000.00 and have him possibly come quarterly instead of to every meeting. • Office equipment/Supplies to be raised to 9,000.00 to include new computers. Water and Sewer will also pay their share of computer cost. • Road Fund to start getting money every year $10,000.00 • Miscellaneous from $10,000.00 to $8,000.00 These adjustments will be reviewed at the Village Board meeting. The committee discussed the overall budget and agreed to present the proposed budget at the next Village Board meeting for further review.
