Approval of December 27th, 2023, Minutes Motion by Berry, second by Waller, motion carried. Citizen input Roseberry – Wants to know what the options are with his neighbors (Bobby Minigh) at the old Friendship Motor Court. The motel had a guy die and the neighbor put his old mattresses on Roseberry’s property. Roseberry pushed the mattresses back on to Mr. Minigh property. They have stayed there ever since. Roseberry wants to know if they can be sent a nuisance letter or something to encourage them to clean up the place. Frank is going to call Mr. Minigh to try and get him to clean up the mess before sending him a letter. Discussion on Fence at 205 East Raymond Street Property President Sindelar stated that the fence on the property is placed in the right of way. The fence needs to be placed inward of the property line. Baggs wanted to know how far back from the property line he would need to go with his fence, or if he could put it back up on his property line. Frank will go over to see if he can locate the property line for Mr. Baggs. The Committee is recommending the lot line markers be found and verified, and the fence can be moved back to that line. Update on Meter Installation, and Training Frank stated that the Village has all but 108 of the new meters. Midwest Meters let Frank know that at the end of the installation if we have extra meters that the Village doesn’t want to hold onto, they will credit them back. We should have the rest of our order in the next 2 weeks. Then HydroCorp will send out letters to the residents to try and set up appointments. Training for the BEACON software is March 11th at 10:00 a.m. Frank invited the committee members to sit in on the training if they wanted. Update on the Nuisance Letters Sent Out Frank stated they he feels a lot of the residents that received nuisance letters have picked up a little bit, there have been some improvement. The House on Moundview Dr. put tarps up to hide all their stuff. Frank hasn’t had any complaints about it yet. The letters that Frank sent out he feels have done some good. They will table this and come back to this next month to make sure the properties are still improving. President Sindelar updated the Committee on the East Lake Street property and said it will just be something ongoing that we will need to keep our eyes on. Sindelar stated that the son of the property owner was told that the vehicles in the yard need to get registered. PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING – FEBRUARY 29TH, 2024 – Page 2 Update on HWY 13 & Street Light Project Frank has not received an update from the DOT. The Last he heard was the DOT was hoping to start the project in May. Frank stated that he had received a call wanting to know how much the Village wanted to sell the old streetlight for. President Sindelar wants to put that on the next agenda to go over what we might want to sell our old streetlights for. And if any are worth salvaging. Adjournment Motion by Waller, second by Berry, motion carried. _____________________________________ Rebecca Reuter Deputy Clerk
