Street/Sewer Committee Meeting — Minutes

Street and Sewer Committees Meeting Monday July 13, 2026 The meeting was called to order @ 11:00 a.m. by Street Committee chair, Tom Lauritzen Present: T/Lauritzen. T/Yeska, T/Pilz Robbie Jansen (Sewer Operator/Street Maintenance). A motion from T/Yeska;2nd by T/Pilz to move into Closed Session For employment consideration for the Sewer/Street Position: T/Yeska, aye, T/Pilz aye, T/Lauritzen aye Motion carried. During closed session the application were again reviewed. Of the four called to interview on Tuesday July 7,2026 evening only two actually showed up, one never chose to schedule a time and the other didn’t show up. After additional conversation the committee had some additional concern with who they agreed might be the best candidate. T/Pilz suggested that they call Mr. Hanson Jr. in for a second interview. T/Lauritzen decided to call Mr. Hanson to see if he was available this morning. He was and arrived @11:29 am. He reassured the committee that he was capable of handling the job and is aware he would have to relinquish his Village Board Seat. He also offered additional information about himself. He was told that the Executive Committee has the final say and that they would meet as soon as the Clerk/Treasurer was back in the office, next week and she will notify him of the final decision. With that being said Mr. Hanson left. Knowing if the Executive Committee agrees with our decision that will leave a Village Trustee position on the Village Board open. The Village President has the option of leaving the position open until the Spring election of 2028 or appointing someone. A few residents’ names were mentioned as possible appointees. T/ Lauritzen will inform the P/Ganzel of all this information so he can set up the necessary meetings to complete this process. A motion from T/Pilz;2nd by T/Yeska to return to Open Session to conduct the business of Closed Session. Voice Vote: T/Pilz aye; T/Yeska aye; T/Lauritzen aye. Motion Carried. A motion by T/Pilz 2nd by T/Yeska to recommend to the Executive Committee hiring Harold Hanson, Jr. for the Sewer/Street Position. Motion carried.
