Street Committee Meeting — Minutes

Street Committee Meeting Wednesday February 19, 2025 The meeting was called to order at 10:10 a.m. Present: T/Lauritzen, T/Yeska, Doug Jirik, Robbie Jansen (Sewer Operator) and Lindsey Inda (Village Clerk/Treasurer). The committee discussed sidewalk repair needs. The Post Office sidewalk repair is a must repair for 2025. The committee directed Lindsey to email the owner’s of the Post Office notifying them of the intent of the Village to complete the project in 2025 with the cost billed to the property owner. Due to the amount budgeted towards sidewalks in 2025, this will be the only project to be competed. The Committee will be asking for an increase in 2026 in budgeted sidewalk funds. The Committee will put together a recommendation on sidewalks to be repaired to be reviewed during budget workshops. Dylan Testin had inquired about fixing the sidewalk on Front Street. Robert recommended looking at patching the alley portion that is potholed when we have streets repaired this year. The Committee also addressed how to notify property owners of the Village’s intent to repair sidewalks abutting their property as half of the cost is the responsibility of the property owner. It was suggested that letters be sent and possibly a Public Hearing held to address concerns with the property owners.
