Wild Rose Days Planning Committee Meeting Minutes from Wednesday,March 11, 2026 Our Mission Statement: To create a self-sustaining, affordable family festival, which involves the whole community, bringing everyone together. Present: Mary Pilz, Becky Hansen, Kent Barnard, Dan Arndt, Dave Przekurat, Elizabeth Reynolds, Amanda Jalensky, Tara Anderson, Jane Erickson Welcome and Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 5:30 P.M. by Tara Anderson. The February meeting minutes and today's agenda were reviewed and approved. Information from the Village: Mary Pilz gave us a Special Events Application from the Village, to be completed at least 60 days prior to our event. Jane will take care of it. Secretary/Financial Update: No new information Items for Discussion 1. Blue Ribbon Kids Day April 11 – Kent will give a draft of the quarter-sheet hand-out to Tara by April 1 and print 500 of the final copy. These will be given to Dan Arndt on April 8, to be handed out by the Kiwanis volunteers at that event.
. Fundraising – The group suggested some changes to the fundraising letter, such as deductible donations. Kent will print them. 3. Jerry Apps recognition ideas – a) display from Learning Fair, b) display in Library display cabinet in May, c) May 9 will have a celebration of Jerry's life at school and at the Library, d) trivia sheet at Wild Rose Days, e) convertible with banner for parade, e) more to come! 4. Books - Melissa Wood from What the Snark will organize collection of “gently used” books for our book giveaway, promoting sustainability. Amanda will offer assistance of the Cub Scouts. 5. Other – Our raffle license for the 50-50 raffle on July 25 has been ordered. We will again have a gun raffle through the American Legion, with a 22 rifle donated by Malchows.
