Wild Rose Days Planning Committee Meeting Minutes Wednesday, February 11, 2026 Our Mission Statement: To create a self-sustaining, affordable family festival, which involves the whole community, bringing everyone together. Present: Kent Barnard, Mary Pilz, Dan Arndt, Dave Przekurat, Elizabeth Reynolds, Amanda Jalensky, Pat Karasek, Jane Erickson, Tara Anderson The meeting was called to order by Tara Anderson at 5:30 P.M. The agenda and January 14, 2026 meeting minutes were reviewed and approved. Village Information: No new information. Secretary/Financial Information: We have $28,361.65 in our account at this time. The Post Office box rental fee will be paid by the end of the month, $78.00. Items for Discussion: 1. Food – The Wild Rose Kiwanis Club has agreed to help serve the Friday night picnic (7/24/26) and run the Food Stand on Saturday (7/25/26). 2. Fundraising – Elizabeth Reynolds, Amanda Jalensky, and Jane Erickson will send a rough draft of the fundraising letter to members for comments/suggestions and it will be approved at the next meeting. 3. Jerry Apps Recognition Ideas – Kent told us that there will be a public memorial gathering at the Wild Rose High School on Saturday, May 9 from 1-2 P.M., followed by refreshments at the Library. Jerry's birthday is July 25, during our event! Kent has been in close contact with Jerry's daughter, Susan, and reported that the family is very happy that Jerry is being recognized at Wild Rose Days. A theme was suggested – Our Hometown Storyteller – Jerry Apps. Kent will talk to Jerry's publisher about obtaining some of his childrens books for our book giveaway. 4. Events – Will be reviewed at next meeting; most have been reserved and confirmed. 5. Other - Calendar Participation – Tara has been in contact with WTS about our group taking a month in the calendar fundraiser; we would prefer July. More information to follow. Pie-Eating Contest Fundraiser – Tara volunteered to represent us at this event at Kristin's Bakery on Friday, March 13. Next Meeting Date: Wednesday, March 11, 5:30 at the Community Center
