Town of Menomonie
Regular Monthly Meeting
Tuesday August 18, 2026, 6:00pm Town Hall E4055 550th Ave. Menomonie
Present: Kent Jackson, Scott Barnhart, Arden McMartin, Charisse Sutliff and Nancy Ponto
Kent called the Regular Meeting to Order at 6:00 pm
Approval of Minutes
• Minutes from the July14th 2026 Regular Board Meeting were reviewed.
• Arden made a motion to approve, Scott 2nd Carried
Public
• None
CSM- Leipnitz
• Ron Jasperson with AUTH Surveying representing Carol Leipnitz presented the Board with a R1 CSM with
the plan to separate off two lots. The zoning allows one acre lots in R1. All lots are good for water recharge.
Letters were sent out to all neighbors, and they were present in the Plan Commission meeting last month.
Kent stated that the PC meeting concluded it met all Town requirements and the Commission did recommend
the Board approve it.
• Arden made a motion to approve the CSM, Scott 2nd Carried. Documents were signed.
Century Line Painting for 520th St and 390th St.
• Kent shared a quote from Century Traffic for painting our lines on 390th St, Rudiger Road and 520th St in
Cedar Hills along with, what he believed was also in the quote to bring our two painted railroad crossings on
330th St and 429th St into compliance.
• Century uses high-quality paint that doesn’t wear as fast as the City of Menomonie uses.
• Dunn County maintains the 390th St railroad crossing lines.
• The quote from Century apparently did not include the two railroad crossings that need to be done. 330th St
(Ford Road) will need to be marked North of the tracks and 429th St (Railroad Road) will need markings on
both sides of the tracks.
• Matt will get a revised quote to include the railroad crossing markings and we will Table the approval till
next month.
Propane Prebuy
• Fletcher Smith with Alcivia was at our meeting and offered a propane prebuy quote for over 3000 gal at
$1.44/gal. No money down is at the same price. The quote from Synergy for the same service was $1.52/gal.
• Kent and the Board discussed, and they asked when the approval would need to be done. Kent asked that the
Board votes on it and then get a paper contract.
• Kent also said that we could get prices on Diesel as well. Alcivia has that all available and can show that at a
future Board meeting.
• Kent made a motion to approve a pre-buy of 5k gal at $1.44 with no money down on a prebuy from Alcivia.
Scott 2nd Carried.
• The Contract will be emailed to Kent.
Patrolman Report
• Grader patched Heller Road culvert repair section, sand/salt shed rafter repair, tarped sand/salt pile, road
sweeping, replacing signs, and mowing throughout the Township.
Drop Off Site Report
• Kent didn’t have anything, other than we are getting a lot of roll offs
Commission Report
• The Leipnitz CSM was covered. They are not planning a meeting in September.
Chairman Report
• The Annual Town Banquet will be held Oct 20th and would like RSVPs of who wants to go.
• The Gilbert Creek Bridge on 550th Ave requires maintenance. Kent asked Dustin Binder with Dunn County
to arrange for someone to inspect it and give us some options to address the maintenance needed.
• Kent asked for attendance at the new Menomonie EMS District meeting on Aug 26th at 7pm as Kent will be
out of Town on vacation. Arden said he would attend.
• A salt/sand inspection came back stating that we were not compliant with our structure protecting the
salt/sand from weather. We were told we needed to tarp it. In the past this was never brought up, but it was
discussed with a new inspector. This is a Tier 2 program with the DNR where we report how much salt/sand
we store. We need to follow DOT for inspections where we need to tarp it in the summer or provide a new
building within specifications. Kent thought we should keep it on our radar so that we will have some capital
expenditure in the future.
• Kent, Matt and Josh met with Abe Smith, a resident on 350th street about some drainage concerns Abe had
with the new plow truck turnaround created next to his property. Matt & Josh will be adding some sloping
done to handle drainage. It was a good meeting.
• We had a request from Cam Peterson, who resides in the City of Menomonie who would like to detach from
the City of Menomonie and become part of the Town. The City would need to approve a detachment; Kent
discussed it with the City and sent the request back to Cam Peterson asking him to get approval from the
City of Menomonie first.
Clerk Report:
• The Partisan Primary Election was held on Aug 11th with a total of 702 ballots cast. The poll workers and the
Chief Inspectors did a very good job. All reports were dropped off at the County office, the Board of Canvas
confirmed all data yesterday with no issues found.
• Request for cleaning services on the floor.
Board Reports:
• Nancy stated that Kevin Irwin needs to get back to the County on the re-evaluation final admission is not
matching the County Treasurer’s.
• Arden gave an Irving Creek Cemetery Report, they have identified one of the unmarked graves. Arden asked
about tombstones that have fallen over. Josh stated that he’d like to get out there and fix some of them.
• Arden mentioned that if fire signs are worn out and unreadable they need to be replaced by the County. They
can be ordered online through the County. We should add a link to the website for constituents.
• Arden said that at the Town/City meeting brought up the hot topic of road bans. It was brought up that scales
needed to be purchased and training needed to be done to help enforce the road bans. The cost ask was
approx. $2k per township. More future discussions will be held at the Joint City/Town meeting.

Park on September 24th 2-6pm. This is for chemicals. Next meeting will be on Nov 10th.
