Minutes of the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System Board of Trustees Meeting July 29, 2026 Lester Public Library The regular meeting of the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System Board was called to order at the Lester Public Library on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 5:30 p.m., by President of the Board, Natasha Khan. Members Present: In person- Ron Dietrich, Kali Hentges, Natasha Khan, Sara Meier, Ray Mueller, Megan O’Connor; Virtual- Mary Hoerth, Darcie Schwalenberg-Kesler, Don Zimmer Members Absent: Chuck Krueger, Jeremy Sehloff, Scott Tuma, Don Weiss Others Present: Julia Davis (Virtual), Terry Ehle, Amy Eisenschink, Rebecca Scherer, Kate Verhelst Minutes: A motion was made by O’Connor and seconded by Meier to accept the minutes of the May 27, 2026 MCLS Board meeting. Motion carried. Member Library Directors' Reports: Reports were presented by Terry Ehle, Julia Davis, with O’Connor providing a brief update for MPL and Hoerth and Mueller discussing updates for CPL. Financial Business: A motion was made by O’Connor and seconded by Dietrich to approve the May and June 2026 financial reports. Motion carried. A motion was made by Hoerth and seconded by Hentges to approve the June and July 2026 payment of bills. Motion carried. A motion was made by Mueller and seconded by O’Connor to approve the Reach Out and Read report through June 2026. Motion carried. System Director's Report: A written report was included in the Board packets. Office & Outreach Coordinator’s Report: A written report was included in the Board packets. LARS Consultant’s Report: A written report was included in the Board packets. New Business: The Finance Committee Meeting Committee will consist of Tuma, Krueger, and Sehloff, with a proposed meeting date of Thursday, August 13 at 5:30 p.m. The Personnel Committee Meeting Committee will consist of Khan, Meier, and O’Connor, with a proposed meeting date of Thursday, August 13 at 6:00 p.m. Trustee Education – Trustee Tales: Developing and Managing the Library’s Budget and Evaluating Library Director Performance: A Key Board Responsibility: Scherer discussed how well written the budget article was, and briefly discussed her article regarding library director evaluations. Confirm date and set place for next meeting: The next MCLS Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., at the Chilton Public Library.
