II. CITIZEN INPUT AND COMMUNICATIONS. President Jackett opened the floor for citizen input. Becky Paasch, 1232 Franklin Dr. Asked if the proposed tennis and pickleball courts would be for Village residents only. Trustee Ader stated the question would be included under Item XI. Chris Gabsch, 1120 W Jefferson Ave. Ms. Gabsch asked what expenses were included as recycling in the 2026 budget; answer—mostly contracted services and work related to the yard waste site. She questioned park revenue in the 2026 budget; response—the budget reflected reservation fees generated by rentals at all three parks (Dairyland, Hika, and Veterans). Ms. Gabsch noted the Village spent a fortune on the new shelter at Dairyland Park and was responsible for maintenance and security cameras; response—the Cleveland Lions Club raised $400,000 in donations and contributions for the new shelter, with the Village contributing $50,000 and gaining public bathrooms and a modern community facility for the cost. Trustee Ader was asked at Veterans Park on Sunday, June 14, 2026, why the Lions Club application to serve alcohol at Dairyland Festival was denied but the Athletic Club was approved to serve alcohol all summer . Director Grunwald explained the Lions Club submitted a temporary Class “B” event application for the sale of fermented malt beverages that she approved. A Club member asked for information to sell Carbliss intoxicating liquor beverages, which would require a regular “Class B” alcohol retail license; no application was submitted for that type of license. VILLAGE BOARD OF CLEVELAND, WISCONSIN PAGE 2 Minutes of the Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Regular Meeting XI. TENNIS AND PICKLEBALL COURTS AT VETERANS PARK. Trustee Ader distributed a scaled design from Munson Inc showing one tennis court and two pickleball courts within the current tennis court fencing. He emphasized the drawing was for discussion, not approval. He explained why the designer laid out the courts and walkable areas as he did, and highlighted points of interest in the scope of work. He noted the estimated cost for labor and material meant the project was likely a budget item for 2027 and this would provide time for the Village to apply for grant funding and donations. He and Trustee Burkhard had met previously with members of the Athletic Club and would do so again. The Board asked several questions, after which President Jackett noted the topic was still in Public Works Committee and he anticipated it wouldn’t return to the Village Board until there was a recommendation.
