1 THE VILLAGE OF GAYS MILLS Minutes of the special meeting of the Village Board of Gays Mills held Wednesday, April 3, 2019, which began at 6:16 p.m. in the Community Commerce Board Room. Village President Harry Heisz called the meeting to order at 6:16 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following present: Krista Eitsert, Harry Heisz, Kimberly Pettit, and Lee Ruegg. Aaron Fortney and Albert Zegiel were absent. The board received verification that the agenda was posted in accordance with the open meeting law. The board reviewed the bids received from Old School Builds LLC of Viroqua: - Remove and replace 800 sf of cracked and damaged concrete slabs on pool decks. Remove all debris, install new compacted gravel base, pin to existing slabs in good condition with #4 bars. 6x6 #10 woven wire mesh, hand troweled smooth exterior finish, sealed for $23,984.76 - Blast existing painted pool surfaces all sides and bottom on both pools to provide good adhesion for $24,793.68 - Remove all expansion caulk joints on pool and pool deck, re-caulk, seal pool with 2 coats of pool paint, (stock colors) for $17,578.56 Additional projects the board is considering for pool: - Steps into pool (estimate expense at $1,000) - Pump House repairs (estimate expense at $5,000 - $7,000) - New pool vacuum (estimate expense at $1,000 - $3,000) After discussion Ruegg made a motion to have village office contact Royal Bank on receiving swimming pool loan of $80,000 for 5 years and have terms and resolution prepared for May meeting. Seconded by Eitsert. Motion carried. The board is hopeful that the new group Friends of the Gays Mills Swimming Pool will be able to help with their fundraising for these projects. Pettit made a motion to accept Old School Builds LLC’s bid for removal and replacement of pool concrete slabs of $23,984.76. Seconded by Ruegg. Motion carried. Pettit made a motion to accept Old School Builds LLC’s bid for sandblasting pool surfaces of $24,793.68. Seconded by Ruegg. Motion carried. Pettit made a motion to accept Old School Builds LLC’s bid for caulking and painting pool of $17,578.56. Seconded by Ruegg. Motion carried.
