1 THE VILLAGE OF GAYS MILLS & SOLIDERS GROVE Minutes of a special joint meeting of the Village Board of Gays Mills and Village Board of Soldiers Grove held Thursday, February 13, 2020, which began at 6:03 p.m. in the Community Commerce Community Room. Village President Harry Heisz called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. Gays Mills roll call was taken with the following present: Harry Heisz, Larry McCarn, Kevin Murray, Kim Pettit, and Lee Ruegg. Aaron Fortney and Albert Zegiel were absent. Soldiers Grove roll call was taken with the following present: Village President Paul Nicholson, Steve George, Jerry Miller, Roy Davidson, and Shayne Chapman. Vicki Campbell and Harison Heilman were absent. The boards received verification that the agenda was posted in accordance with the open meeting law. Open discussion regarding a purposed joint wastewater treatment plant took place between both boards: - Main focus is financial responsibility - Sewer rates - Best location of plant - Setting budgets/sharing expenses - Engineering Company - Will North Crawford School be a user? - Joint maintenance/research projects coordinated together could provide cost savings - Create joint committee - Administrator for project management - Attorneys Agreed that at their next regular board meeting both boards would select at least three members each for a joint committee to work on the proposed joint wastewater treatment plant. Next regular board meeting for Gays Mills is March 2nd and March 5th for Soldiers Grove. Agreed that the location of meetings can alternate between communities. A joint committee meeting will be scheduled during the second week in March. Miller made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:45 p.m. Seconded by Murray. Motion carried.
