COMMISSION ON PUBLIC WORKS/UTILITIES
COUNCIL ROOM, CITY HALL
AUGUST 25, 2026
6:45 P.M.
The Commission on Public Works/Utilities met in regular session, Mayor Poeschel
presiding. On roll call: Council Member Clough absent, all other members present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were declared approved.
Director of Public Works Friemoth reported on one cremation and one full burial at the
Cemetery, placed matting, border and rubber mulch around the toys at Listeman Park,
touching up paint on various toys, watering flowers and a few areas that were seeded with
grass, hauling out pulverized material on the Ferguson and W. Second Streets project,
removed curb and gutter, dug out and replaced base material on two blocks of W. Second
Street between Oak Street and Grand Avenue, equipment maintenance, Water Department-
daily testing and well rounds, utility locates, scheduling meter change outs, adjusting risers
and repairing broken road boxes, cross connection inspections, Sewer Department-daily
testing and lift station rounds, lift station inspection and maintenance, added degreaser to
various lift stations, testing out a different chemical to reduce our phosphorus levels,
measuring manhole covers throughout town to raise them so the road is smoother and

Director of Public Works Friemoth stated that work is going well on the Ferguson and
W. Second Streets project. Curb and gutter was installed last week and American Asphalt
stated that paving is likely to be a couple of weeks out.
Director of Public Works Friemoth presented the HydroCorp service agreement renewal
contract. They do our commercial cross connection inspections, and this is something that is
very time consuming. Our current contract for $8,326, or $181 per inspection, and that has
got us caught up but the new contract is a 2-year contract for a total of $14,344.97, or
$193.85 per inspection, which would be an increase per inspection.
Motion Gelhaus, second Pavlac, to recommend to the Common Council to accept the
HydroCorp service renewal agreement contract as presented. All Aye.
Motion Petkovsek, second Neville, that Water Bills Nos. 220 to 248 in the amount of
$64,495.66 and Sewer Bills Nos. 145 to 163 in the amount of $ 95,510.55 be paid. All Aye.
