Beautification Committee Meeting — Minutes

BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE MEETING COUNCIL ROOM, CITY HALL 106 W. DIVISION STREET MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2026 3:45 P.M. The Beautification Committee was called to order by Chair Barb Petkovsek. On roll call: Barb Petkovsek, Janice Miller, Barb Miller, Linda Hemp, Maggie Gelhaus and Donna Pavlac present. Absent: Doris Bakker and Kathy Brugger Also present: Director of Public Works Luke Friemoth, Cemetery Sexton/Parks Director Regan Barth, Library Director Janay Ziebell and Mandy Krejci. Minutes of the previous meeting approved as filed with the Clerk. Appearances: Library Director Janay Ziebell asked the Committee if the Library could be included in the 2026 decorations/plants. Financial Update: Chair Petkovsek updated the Committee on the 2026 Budget to date. Discuss and/or act on decorations for America’s 250th Birthday Celebration: 1. Red, White, Blue Edison Lights – Friemoth will check into the lights and order 2. Porch Uncle Sam’s – Some of the Committee members will make some 3. Buntings and Banners – Bunting, banners flags around the Gazebo 4. Other – White Edison lights in Town Square to be installed by the holidays Motion Gelhaus, second Hemp, to approve the decorations for the City for America’s 250th Birthday Celebration. All Aye. Update on Veteran’s Flags: Gelhaus updated the Committee on Military Flags for 2026. Review weeding schedule: Group reviewed the 2026 weeding schedule. Review letter for Donations: Petkovsek reviewed with the Committee the letter asking for 2026 donations. Discuss and/or act on ad for Spring Flowers/decorations: Committee agreed to place an ad for donations for the Spring flowers/decorations. Update on Kranzation’s decorations: No update Motion Gelhaus, second Pavlac, to adjourn. All Aye.
