Meenon Town Board Meeting Minutes January 15, 2024 The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Supervisor O’Brien. Sybers was absent from the meeting Notice was posted in accordance with Wis. Stats. 19.84 Open Meeting Law. Concerned Citizens: Mr. Armstrong was present to continuation the discussion on the sex offenders in Meenon Township and what can be done about the situation. Motion by Strese to approve the agenda order, seconded by O’Brien. Motion carried. Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 19, 2024, immediately following the Public Hearing on the SRT. The meeting will be held at the new town hall (the old Ingalls Clinic) on Main Street in Webster. Police Report – No police report. The December 2023 minutes were presented for approval, on a motion by Strese to approve with 1 correction, seconded by O’Brien. Motion carried. On a motion by O’Brien, seconded by Strese, the Treasurers report was approved as presented. Supervisor’s Report – O’Brien – Brown’s tree service has been out trimming and cutting trees. O’Brien indicated that he would like to attend the February 17th District Meeting to be held in Steven’s Point. The Clerk was instructed to send in his registration. O’ Brien also asked if there would be room for the backpack program to use some space at the town hall, he will check with Oakland to see if the backpack program can use the room that used to be the employee break room. Strese – there are1165 fire numbers in the Township and 614 have been replaced; there are also street signs that need to be replaced. Chairman’s report – Sybers was not present. Nothing to discuss about roads at this time. We should check with the County about sanding our roads. County Road FF property – no new information at this time. Resolutions/Ordinances from last meeting were presented again for review. They were approved at the last meeting. Items for next meeting – we will be meeting in the new town hall on Main Street in Webster. There will be a public hearing for the SRT prior to the regular monthly meeting. We will need to write an ordinance which includes the State Traffic Statute. Motion by O’Brien to pay the bills, seconded by Strese. Motion carried. Motion by Strese to adjourn at 7:45 p.m., seconded by O’Brien. Motion carried. DRAFT copy until approval at the February 2024 meeting.
