items to address.
Clerk/Treasurer Peterson gave the Clerk’s Report. In addition to the information provided
in the handbook the Village has received communication from the Syren Garden Club
that they will no longer be doing the watering in the Community Garden and would like
the Public Works Crew to handle that while watering the flowers. They have left a hose
connected to the water spigot. Also, the VFW is requesting a water spigot near the tank
for care of the garden in that area. One Board member, John Tinman, has completed the

STANDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS & REPORTS
Streets & Utilities Committee
A motion was made by Kelly Gunderson and seconded by Sara Reimann to authorize
the DOT to use Elizabeth Street during the State Road 35/70 reconstruction project as
part of the detour. The intersection of South Shore Drive and State Road 35/70 will be
reconstructed as part of the project. Board members discussed that the Village will
document the status of the pavement prior to the detour so that it can be repaired by
DOT to the pre-existing standards if needed. The detour is scheduled for June 5, 2026
through August 31, 2026. Motion carried without negative vote.
A motion was made by Dave Doty Sr. and seconded by Kelly Gunderson to repair and
repaint the street light control panel box that may be moved by the laundromat. The box
is a specialty box and therefore not readily available for replacement. The Public Works
Department can repair and paint the existing box at considerable cost savings. Motion
carried without negative vote.
Public Safety Committee
A motion was made by Dave Doty Sr. and seconded by John Tinman to amend the
existing contract with the Towns of Oakland and Meenon to be on a calendar year with

Department. Motion carried without negative vote.
Buildings, Grounds & Parks Committee
Tim Michel and Kevin Duncan of the Burnett County Transfer Station and the Board
discussed the location of the Transfer Station. The Station did contact some of the areas
discussed at the Buildings, Grounds & Parks Committee meeting such as Adventures
Church and the Siren Senior Center. Neither place was interested in having the transfer
station set up at their location. The current location at the Hockey Arena will be an issue
during the winter months. The owners are looking for a permanent location that could
have a small shed along with a cement slab for construction debris. Other locations that
the Board discussed as a possibility would be the Anderson Family lot on Railroad
Avenue or the Mothes properties on State Road 70 or Main Street. Clerk/Treasurer
Peterson will provide information on the lots in the Village. No official action was taken
on the discussion.
A motion was made by Dave Doty Sr. and seconded by Sara Reimann to approve
Ordinance 2025-01: An Ordinance to Amend Village Ordinance 595-87: Accessory Uses

Water Treatment Plant ultimately dispenses effluent into the marsh area and then
migrates into Big Doctors Lake. The existing grant is a three-treatment process and this

phase one of the project. The treatment is scheduled for September of this year. The
Board is working on fundraising. The Board discussed having the Personnel & Finance
Committee discuss this issue.
