Chairman Rasmussen reminded everyone that the state doesn’t let the town raise our levy limit.
Administrator Mahoney explained there have been 3 formal exemption requests. All parcels looking for
an exemption could do a CSM to clean up the parcels. The Town’s attorney gave a memo of what the
Town’s stance is. Chairman Rasmussen talked about how the County wouldn’t put the ambulance
charge on the tax bills. There was a staff of 3 and they couldn’t analyze every parcel. The Midwest piece
is on the road and should be exempted. There needs to be a different way to do this and get it back in
the levy. There was further discussion on how the board spent a lot of time deciding how to do this and
try to make this as fair as possible. On a motion by Chairman Rasmussen/Supervisor Martin, passed on a
voice vote, the Town Board denied the request for exemption of the ambulance service charge by
William Bowman, 300 LLC, and Olde Apple Acres Home Association and approved the request for
exemption of the ambulance service charge by Midwest Real Estate Development.
