Town of Nekimi Monthly Board Meeting March 16, 2015 Present: Glen Barthels, Larry Schweda, Jessica Potratz and Julie Barthels; Excused: Tom Pollack The meeting was called to order by Chairman Barthels at 7:30 p.m. Supervisor Schweda moved to approve the February minutes as presented. 2nd by Supervisor Barthels. Carried 2-0. Treasurer’s Report was presented. Zoning: Discussed the Wilkins property located at 326 State Road 26. The Wilkins family has asked the town to amend their Land Use Plan. This item will be put on next month’s agenda for a decision. Supervisor Schweda moved to pay February bills. 2nd by Supervisor Barthels. Carried 2-0. Old Business: Road Conditions – Chairman Barthels will check with the County Highway Department for dates for road check. A resident notified the board of pot holes on Lone Elm Avenue and asked if the Town has a say in how the road is repaired. New Business: Board of Review Ordinance and Certification – Chairman Barthels moved to order a Board of Review DVD for the town board members to be certified for the Board of Review. 2nd by Supervisor Schweda. Carried 2-0. Lawn Mowing Contract – The town received two contracts for mowing the lawn at the Town Hall and Salem Cemetery. Supervisor Schweda moved to accept the contract from Jeff Leichtfuss with the provision that the amount is not just an estimate and that the contract will not change. 2nd by Barthels. Carried 2-0. A resident questioned the board regarding Oshkosh Corp. to see if they had changed their test route. Chairman Barthels will contact Oshkosh Corp to find an answer. The resident is looking out for the quality of the road. County Board Report – Supervisor Robert Keller reported that the County is proposing to reconstruct a taxiway at the Airport and possibly build a new terminal. Sheriff Matz is proposing to the County Board to construct a Welcome Center at the Court House for a security check. Candidates for Town Clerk – Chairman Barthels introduced the candidates running for Town Clerk, Peggy Nozar and Kelsey Barthels.
