Town of Nekimi Monthly Board Meeting January 19, 2015 Present: Glen Barthels, Tom Pollack, Larry Schweda, Jessica Potratz and Julie Barthels The meeting was called to order by Chairman Barthels at 7:30 p.m. Schweda moved to approve the December minutes as presented. 2nd by Pollack. Carried 3-0. Treasurer’s Report was presented. Zoning: The Certified Survey map that was on the agenda was pulled. This property is being annexed into the City of Oshkosh. Discussed the Wilkins property located at 326 State Road 26. Chairman Barthels and Supervisor Pollack have contacted the Town Attorney in regard to this matter. The board asked the property owner to contact the Planning and Zoning Department in regard to changing the zoning and to inquire as to why the zoning wasn’t changed to A-2 when other properties in the township were changed from A-1 to A-2. The board is not in favor of opening the Land Use Plan and questioned when the plan would need to be re-visited. Schweda moved to pay December bills. 2nd by Barthels. Carried 3-0. Old Business: Road Conditions – The guard rail on the corner of County Road N and Old Knapp Road is in need of repair. Implements of Husbandry – On December 16, 2014 the Winnebago County Board passed a resolution regarding implement operating requirements on county roads. The County Highway Department is hoping that townships will also adopt this resolution. They will be having meetings sometime in late February or early March to discuss this in further detail. County Board Supervisor District 32, Robert Keller, reported on items from the County Board. He commented on the IDB Committee, the Public Health Committee regarding E-Cigarettes, the Aviation Committee and the West Side Arterial. Lange Enterprises – The board discussed the different colors and the size of the signs that would best fit the township. The chairman reported that he had two parties interested in installing the signs. Decided that the town needs to contact the insurance company to see if these parties would be covered while installing the signs. MS4 Stormwater Permits – The board questioned the cost of this permit and what it all entails. The town attorney informed the Clerk that the town has to sign up for it, the DNR does not give you a choice to “yes” or “no”. New Business: Erosion Control Permit – This permit is one that needs to be completed each year for the Planning and Zoning Department. The Board asked the Clerk to check on the date for the Annual Meeting and if it can be held on the same night as the regular Town Board meeting. The Clerk announced the meeting dates for Open Book and Board of Review. Open Book will be held on April 25, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Board of Review will be held on May 16, 2015 starting at 8:00 a.m. Schweda moved to adjourn the meeting. 2nd by Pollack.
