Town of Nekimi Monthly Board Meeting March 17, 2014 Present: Glen Barthels, Larry Schweda, Jessica Potratz and Julie Barthels. Excused: Tom Pollack. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Barthels at 7:30 p.m. Schweda moved to approve the February minutes as presented. 2nd by Barthels. Carried 2-0. Treasurer’s Report was presented. Zoning: A Certified Survey map for Douglas and Colleen Kleinschmit was presented to the board for Parcel #012-0451. Schweda moved to accept the CSM as presented. 2nd by Barthels. Carried 2-0. Schweda moved to pay February bills. 2nd by Barthels. Carried 2-0. Old Business: Road Conditions – Discussed the condition of the new portion of County Road I between County Road N and County Road Z. The pavement has many cracks in it. Chairman Barthels will contact the Winnebago County Highway Department to let them know what has happened. On the corner of Old Knapp Road and County Road N, there is a six inch gap in the side of the road by the bridge. Multiple cracks were noticed on Clairville Road near State Road 44. A resident noted that the blinking four way stop lights on the east and west corners of County Road N & I are not working. Adopt a Highway – Nothing to report, will leave on the agenda for March. Aviation Park – Nothing to report. New Business: EMS Funding Assistance Program – Barthels moved to sign the EMS Funding Assistance Program Municipal Signature and Population Verification Page. 2nd by Schweda. Carried 2-0. Lawn Mowing Contract for 2014 – A contract was received from Jerrod McBrair. Barthels moved to accept the contract as presented. 2nd by Schweda. Carried 2-0. Century Link – Application / Notification for 2014/2015 Construction – The Clerk will sign the application and return it to the applicant. MS4 Stormwater Permit – The town received an e-mail from Attorney Matt Parmentier and a letter from Engineering Company regarding this. The board’s decision was to wait until notified by the DNR. Town Property – Chairman Barthels was contacted by the owner of the Planeview Travel Plaza in regard to buying land from the town to build a truck wash. He would eventually like to purchase all of the town parcels on the corner of State Road 26 and Pickett Road. The owner has also contacted Carol McBrair in regard to using the town hall for meetings for their management company. Annual Town of Nekimi Meeting – Barthels moved to have the annual meeting on the third Monday in April, 2014. 2nd by Schweda. Carried 2-0. Barthels moved to adjourn the meeting. 2nd by Schweda.
