2026-06-25 Board of Review — Minutes

Board of Review Hearing June 25, 2026 – 3:00 p.m. – Town Hall PRESENT: Chairman Jim Erdman, Supervisor Matt Merten, Supervisor Bill Demler, and Clerk Jeannette Merten, and Town Assessor Zach Zacharias. Chair Jim Erdman convened the Board of Review to order at 3:01 p.m. Chair and Secretary were selected at the June 8, 2026 Board of Review that recessed until this date. Jim Erdman and Bill Demler met the mandatory training requirements specified in sec. 70.46 (4), Wisconsin Statutes for Board of Review. Notice of the Board of Review was acknowledged by an affidavit from the Oshkosh Northwestern Newspaper, which was posted on June 2, 2026, and published on June 10, 2026. The notice was also posted on the town’s website. Open book was held June 11, 2026 for two hours, notices went out May 28, 2026. The Town Assessor provided a print and a digitized file of the assessment roll. Town Assessor signed and submitted the Assessor’s Affidavit of assessment. The real estate value report was $561,544,100. There are 2117 parcels and 5,851 acres, including exempt lands. Town is currently at about 95% of the State’s equalized value. No property owners were scheduled in advance to make an objection for this Board of Review. Demler made the motion, M. Merten seconded, to go off the record and to pause the voice recorder while examining the assessment roll. Board of Review will go back on the record if a property owner shows up to object. The motion was carried unanimously. The board examined the assessment roll. Board of Review went back on the record at approximately 5:03 p.m.: Motion made by Demler, Erdman seconded, to approve the assessment roll as presented. Motion carried unanimously. No property objections were received or heard. Motion made by Demler, Erdman seconded, to adjourn the 2026 Board of Review. Motion carried unanimously.
