There was also a brief discussion regarding tax exempt status and purchasing parts and items by the lift station operators. J. Latta indicated that some places make it difficult to get tax removed from the purchases and wondered if it was okay if they just purchased the parts, even with the tax included. J. Zinth indicated that we should always try to get the stores to accept our tax-exempt certificate. Further discussion ensued and J. Latta and J. Rosenau will work together to get some commercial accounts set up at Amazon, NAPA and Grainger. Mr. Grabner introduced himself and told the board a little bit about himself and his career and would be available to do the job. As previously indicated at the June meeting, Jerry Fabisch has retired from his services with Island View Sanitary District as the inspector. J. Rosenau indicated she contacted the Town of Oshkosh and Winnebago Area Sanitary District to see who they may use to do inspections. The Town doesn’t have inspections done as they have sanitary districts throughout the town and the person from Winnebago Area Sanitary District indicated that he didn’t feel that the inspector must be a master plumber as the person installing the system must be a master plumber. J. Rosenau also looked at the IVSD sewer ordinance, and it doesn’t indicate anywhere the qualifications needed for a sewer inspector. J. Rosenau stated that she had talked to Daniel Lefebvre, Winnebago County Sanitation Officer, and he again stated he would be willing to do the job for the district. She would try to get some sort of resume and his charge rate for the next meeting. Road repair for Indian Point Rd and Chesapeake Rd.
