FUTURE MEETINGS AND GATHERING INVOLVING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS Next regularly scheduled meeting is June 9, 2026 at 4:30PM. CONSIDERATION - ACTION 2. Prior Minutes Motion Kunz, second Matoushek to approve minutes from the April 14, 2026 meeting. Carried unanimously. 3. Fraser Ln Extension Project Jeff discusses the Fraser Ln Extension Project, which will create engineered plans for potential future development in a farm field area, going through the intersection of Seymour St and south to the property line. Motion Sullivan, second Kunz to recommend this agreement with MSA for $18,980 to city council. Carried unanimously. 4. Window Repair at Heritage Museum Jeff presents over the last 5-6 years, 3-4 windows per year have been repaired at the museum. The previous contractor from Fond du Lac has retired, and a replacement was difficult to find and since the Library Board voted to gift $9,000 from a donation received from the Carnegie Foundation, it makes sense to repair all the remaining windows at once. Motion Sullivan, second Heeringa to recommend repair of leaded windows at the Carnegie Building in the amount of $10,777.20, with $1,777.20 coming from the capital fund. Carried unanimously. 5. Stop Sign at Elm Ave and Grace St. Jeff provides background, noting the issue has been raised before and yellow "stop sign ahead" signs were previously added. The police report shows no recorded accidents at the location. He cautioned the board about budget constraints and the precedent of approving enhanced signage, noting his traffic sign budget is limited. Alderman Matoushek stated he lives in the neighborhood and observes violations constantly. He described the intersection as a shortcut from Fox Lake Road to Beaver Dam Street and expressed concern that switching the stop sign direction would create a racetrack effect past the park. He would like to see LED stop signs or a solar- powered single flashing light as a more budget-friendly option. General discussion was held on which approach to take and Jeff would recommend a trial period to see if it helps and if it doesn’t change then will need to at other options. Motion Matoushek, second Kunz, to approve solar powered LED lights on a 60 day trial basis to begin after the lights are installed. Carried unanimously. 6. City Hall Deficiency/Improvement Capital Needs Jeff presented a prioritized and cost-refined list of capital improvement needs for City Hall, significantly reduced from a prior architect-generated list estimated at $5.5–$6 million or more. Jeff discussed the areas the City needs to prioritize such as ADA compliance (accessible parking stalls and restrooms), carpet replacement, stairway repair, exterior repair, boiler replacement, auditorium HVAC, and generator. This is a discussion to see what the board recommends and will start looking into costs further. DISCUSSION 7. April Report Jeff provides overview of April report, noting that the crew finished up yard waste pickup and now will start to see increase in park maintenance and getting the pool ready. ADJOURNMENT Motion Rens, second Maly to adjourn meeting at 5:18pm. Carried unanimously.
