M I N U T E S CITY OF WAUPUN PLAN COMMISSION MEETING Waupun City Hall – 201 E. Main Street, Waupun WI Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 4:30 PM CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Mayor Bishop called meeting to order at 4:33pm. ROLL CALL Members In-Person: Chairperson Rohn Bishop, Gary Dejaeger, Elton TerBeest, Jerry Medema Members Virtual: Jeff Daane, Jason Whitford City Staff In-Person: Administrator Kathy Schlieve, Sue Leahy Grand Valley Inspector Public: Gene Lambert, Gary Lenz PUBLIC HEARING 1. Gary Genz at 411 Carrington St, to extend the driveway within the front plane of the residence per Municipal Code Section 16.03(4)(b)(iv)a. Motion Matoushek, second Medema to open the public hearing. Carried unanimously Gary Genz presents he is looking to extend his driveway with pea gravel and that would eliminate any mud that is there currently due to parking on grass. He currently has 9 people living in the house with 7 vehicles so it would be helpful to add more parking and clean up the yard. Sue Leahy, Grand Valley Inspector, would recommend approval with 10ft wide stall and nothing bigger. Motion Matoushek, second Whitford to close public hearing. Carried unanimously. Gene Lambert, 410 Carrington St, expresses that himself and neighbors are all against the proposal due to there being plenty of parking all around and enough to park on the street. If approved, would like a cement slab and fence installed. Objection noted. Motion Whitford, contingent on 10ft setback in the greenspace between sidewalk and new parking with 1 car limit. Second Matoushek to approve conditional use permit for Gary Genz at 411 Carrington St. Carried unanimously. NO PERSONS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE PLAN COMMISSION FUTURE MEETINGS AND GATHERING INVOLVING THE PLAN COMMISSION 2. Future Meetings Motion DeJager, second Medema to change the Plan Commission meeting to the last Wednesday of the month making the next Plan Commission meeting to be on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 4:30pm. Carried unanimously. CONSIDERATION - ACTION 3. Prior Minutes Motion TerBeest, second Medema to approve the minutes from March 18, 2026 Plan Commission Meeting. Carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT Motion DeJager, second Medema to adjourn this meeting at 4:49pm. Carried unanimously.
