Special VIRTUAL Board Meeting — Minutes

TOWN OF FOND DU LAC FOND DU LAC COUNTY VIRTUAL SPECIAL BOARD MEETING DECEMBER 23, 2025 7:00 PM Meeting called to order by Chairman Jeff Montsma. In online attendance: Chairman Jeff Montsma, Supervisor Aaron Kuhls, Supervisor David Washkoviak, Supervisor Jennifer Janeczko, Clerk Patti Supple, and Deputy Clerk Terri Klapperich. With three supervisors and the chairman, a quorum was present. Supervisor Jessica Allender and Treasurer Brenda Post were excused. Confirmation of open meeting notice. Notice is posted in three locations. Mike Wettstein and Eric O’Brien, agents from Rural Mutual Insurance, were also online. Township received quotes from current carrier, Horton Group and Rural Mutual Insurance regarding insurance for fiscal year 2026, beginning January 1, 2026. Insurance proposals, documents and comparisons were received and reviewed by all in attendance. A presentation was given by Rural Mutual Insurance agents explaining their proposal, pricing breakdown, property and equipment coverages and deductible options as well as worker’s compensation. Agents presented a side-by-side comparison of Rural Mutual Insurance proposed policy to the Town’s current insurer’s proposed policy for 2026. Rural Mutual Insurance agents were asked to exit the call for further discussion among board members. Discussion and action to accept the insurance proposal from Rural Mutual Insurance with a $5000 deductible for the year of 2026. Motion was made by Supervisor Washkoviak to change insurance companies from Horton Group to Rural Mutual and accept Rural Mutual proposal with $5000 deductible, effective 1-1-26. Motion seconded by Chairman Montsma. No further discussion. Motion carried 4-0. There being no more discussion, motion was made and seconded to adjourn the virtual meeting.
