Town of Fond du Lac Planning Commission Meeting Date Tuesday, January 21st, 2025 Location Town Hall W5990 Pioneer Road Time 6:00 PM Meeting Materials Meeting Materials Link (Google Drive Folder) Note Town board members may be in attendance for information-gathering purposes but will not take any action. Interested parties are encouraged to attend. All plan commission decisions are recommendations; the town board makes the final decision based on the recommendation. Members Jess Allender, Mike Guilfoile, Scott Roltgen, Herb Kedinger, Lisa McArthur, John Zorn Minutes Last updated 1/21/25 1. Call to order and notice of open hearing @ 6:05. 2. Approval of minutes from the previous meeting. Motion by Herb Kedinger, second by Mike Guilfoile, 4-0, 1 abstain. 3. Discussion of changes to General Agriculture Zoning Ordinance to allow for storage buildings. a. Review drafted storage ordinance (changes highlighted in yellow). b. Under landscaping - add lighting, access, and signage c. Public access – does there need to be a residence there; is it rented, owner-occupied, etc. d. Motion to recommend the Town Board approve the revised ordinance by Herb Kedinger, second by Scott Roltgen, motion carries, 5-0. 4. Discussion amendments to Sign Ordinance. a. In October 2023, the Planning Commission recommended the Town Board adopt this sign ordinance, and it was approved by the Town Board on November 13, 2023. However, the website still contains the old version of the sign ordinance. b. Break up allowable and non-allowable signs by district i. Illuminated signs – not permitted in residential areas. ii. E.g., scrolling signs allowed in C & I but it doesn’t say that it’s a special exception. Jess to figure out and update accordingly for next time. iii. Reminder that we agreed to remove mentions of signs from the zoning ordinance. 5. Discussed updates to ordinances/website. 6. Future meetings a. Dog ordinances 7. Adjournment at 6:47 pm.
