Regular Board Meeting — Minutes

Town of Belvidere REGULAR MEETING January 9, 2024, 7:00 PM Cochrane VFW Post 10406 Chairman Ron Speltz called the Regular Town meeting to order. All Board members present. The meeting notice was published in the Buffalo County News and the full agenda posted per WI Statutes 19.84 on Friday, January 5, 2024. A Motion by Supervisor Ron Kazmierczak was made to approve the Minutes as provided to board members in lieu of reading out loud. Supervisor Lee Engfer seconded the motion. Carried. Treasurer Barbara Brommer gave the Treasurer’s report and Investment Summary. Balance on hand as of tonight is $120,630.36 in the General Checking Account. Ron Kaz made a Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as read. Lee seconded the Motion. Carried. The Clerk presented the bills for payment. A motion was made by Ron Kaz and seconded by Lee to pay the bills as presented. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS/ROAD UPDATES: Chairman Speltz reported that roads were sanded & plowed recently due to icy conditions. Ron attended the Pilot CTRIC road meeting on December 19, 2023. The Herman Road LRIP project is approved for $15,622.93 reimbursement. The Town’s submitted TRI Discretionary & Supplemental (70%-30% Grant) application received a 4th placing for Rose Valley Dugway. Funding is not likely for this project. Ron reviewed the draft planned road projects for the 3-Year Road Plan. Tri-Community Fire Department is discussing charging property owners for fire calls with the town doing the fee collecting. This would not reduce the Municipalities payment share. Ron expressed his unfavorable support for this change due to the poor collection rate percentages by other Towns in the County. Also, the Town is not in favor of doing the billing and collecting. The January WTA meeting will be Monday, January 15th at the Buffalo County Courthouse. The next regular scheduled town meeting will be Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 7 pm. The Clerk reported there is no need to have the February 20th Election Primary this year. At 7:32 pm Ron Kaz made a motion to adjourn with Lee seconding. Motion carried.
