Regular Board Meeting — Minutes

Town of Belvidere REGULAR MEETING JUNE 14, 2022, 7:00 PM Cochrane VFW Post 10406 Chairman Ron Speltz called the meeting to order. All Board members present. The meeting notice was published in the Buffalo County News and the full agenda posted per WI Statutes 19.84 on June 10, 2022. A Motion by Supervisor Ron Kazmierczak was made to approve the Minutes as provided to board members in lieu of reading out loud. Supervisor Lee Engfer seconded the motion. Carried. Treasurer Barbara Brommer gave the Treasurer’s report and Investment Summary. Balance on hand as of tonight is $514,456.32 in the General Checking Account. Ron Kaz made a Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as read. Lee seconded the Motion. Carried. The Clerk presented the bills for payment. Received bill for final payment for Remonumentation. A motion was made by Lee and seconded by Ron Kaz to pay the bills as presented. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: The Clerk presented a Renewal Class “B” Alcohol license application from ENJ Companies, LLC, dba Great River Harbor Campground & Marina. The notice was published, license fee paid and no violations. Lee made a motion to approve & issue. Ron Kaz seconded. Motion carried. ENJ Companies, LLC has submitted and paid for all 2022 bartender applications. The Clerk reviewed and conducted alcohol related convictions searches. All OK. Lee made a motion to approve & issue. Ron Kaz seconded. Motion carried. ROAD BID OPENING: SEALED BID notice published on May 23, 2022 for Fetting, Chickadee and Weinandy town roads rock hauling and grading. Chairman Speltz received one sealed bid from Reglin Trucking. Town purchases all rock. Each road has a separate fee for hauling due to distance from quarry. Grading of all rock bid at same price-$2.06/ton. Total hauling is $4,727.25 (1383 T) and grading is $2,848.98 = TOTAL $7,576.23. Chairman Speltz recently was told that rock prices are increasing June 20th. Supervisor Ron Kaz made a motion to approve with Supervisor Lee Engfer 2nd. Carried. Belvidere Boat Landing – rock has been delivered for repair project. Contractor will complete railing project before July 1st so that a bill is submitted to WI DNR to pay. Foegen Railroad crossing – culvert replacement work was completed. Bill from Buffalo County Highway Dept. is pending. Gravel road grading has been completed by Sendlebach Construction. Roads look good. Ron Kaz gave an update on BBC&M Recycling. With new County Administrator, County Board members and Recycling Committee members the past agreements are being questioned. Buffalo County has not paid BBC&M the annual contract $7,500 to date. Hopefully the new contract with Waste Transport taking over the recycling services will be finalized and effective Oct 1st. First, the Village of Cochrane’s lease with Cyrus needs to be finalized. The Attorney for Cyrus is working on the lease and hoping action will be finalized at the Village’s July meeting. The next regular scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 7 pm. The Quarterly County WTA meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 18th with a potluck at the Town of Cross building.
