FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING March 31, 2026 – 3:00 PM Council Chambers, 42 N. Main Street Minutes prepared by: Barb Schmidtknecht The meeting was called to order at 3:00 pm by Barb Schmidtknecht. Roll call: Chris Williamson, Stephen Qualy, Barb Schmidtknecht all present. Others present: Mayor Ben Adank, Marcia Larson, Michele Klein. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion Stephen, second Chris to approve the minutes of the December 8, 2025, Finance Committee meeting. Motion carried and minutes were approved. Discussion of law enforcement services will continue in June when we have a clearer picture of 2026 budget savings. Marcia reported that the 2025 audit should be available in late April. The Department of Revenue and PSC reports have been submitted by the auditors, which is included in the city’s contract. First quarter budget comparison reports were reviewed for all funds - general, cemetery, sewer and water. Reports are on track overall. Specific lines that are over or under budget will be watched. Assigned funds were reviewed. The Mill Street assigned fund is at zero. It was agreed to eliminate this fund and use sand hauling money as general revenue. Motion to adjourn by Chris, second Stephen. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 4:19 pm.
