Sept 1 2026 services committee minutes

September 1, 2026 SERVICES COMMITTEE 9:00 a.m. Chairperson Loren Mueller called the meeting to order at City Hall 314 N. Main St. with the following members present: Gary Jepsen and David Earney. Also present: Mayor Champeny via Zoom, Foreman Joe Wick, Ken Passow-Code Enforcement Officer, Officer Luke Lawton, Tom Brakke, and Clerk-Treasurer Sharaya Reed. Agenda Item 1: Cemetery and perpetual care There was discussion over perpetual care and how that will be handled going forward. Will have to get an update from Kati Hanson. There is a new grave digger for the City. Rylie Sobotta from Arcadia. Agenda Item 2: Fire and ambulance Tom Brakke provided an update of the fire department. They have three new people on the department. They discussed the three entry doors that need to be replaced. Agenda Item 3: Police Luke gave his monthly update. The committee asked about Flock cameras and if he thought they were beneficial or not. Agenda Item 4: Property concerns and update Progress continues to be made on the Featherston and Marty properties. Agenda Item 5: Garbage and recycling Nothing new to update on. Motion by Jepsen seconded by Earney to adjourn. All members voting yes.
