Parks & Rec Minutes 06/09/2026

June 9, 2026 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE 9:00 a.m. City Hall 314 N Main St., Alma, WI Chairperson Davie Meier called the meeting to order with the following members present: Loren Mueller and Perry Iberg. Also present: Mayor Richard Champeny, Clerk-Treasurer Sharaya Reed, Foreman Joe Wick, and Dennis Benish from Alma Marina. Agenda Item 1: County Tick Catch The County will be putting signage up at Buena Vista to make citizens aware of ticks. Agenda Item 2: Signs for Turtle Crossing A citizen was inquiring on signage to make vehicles aware of turtles on State Highway 37 & 35. They were told to contact the DNR and State. Agenda Item 3: Kayak Launch A resident asked about putting a kayak launch at Breckow’s Landing. The committee will look into information about them. Agenda Item 4: Pavillion Update This is still in the process of getting ready. Agenda Item 5: New Well at Marina The water is rusty. Davie Meier will reach out the County for history about the current well. Agenda Item 6: Picnic Table Update The picnic tables have been delivered. The committee still needs to decide where to place them at the beach. Motion by Mueller seconded by Iberg to adjourn. All members voting yes.
