Finance Minutes 01/08/2026

January 8, 2026 FINANCE/TAX & LICENSE/ZONING COMMITTEE 10:30 a.m. Chairperson Gary Jepsen called the meeting to order with the following members present: Alternate David Earney and Perry Iberg. Also present: Mayor Richard Champeny, Tom Henthorn, and Clerk-Treasurer Sharaya Reed. Agenda Item 5: Landfill assistant position. Tom Henthorn was present to discuss the open position. He accepted the offer. Motion by Earney seconded by Iberg to accept Tom Henthorn as an employee of our landfill to start January 16th at 9am at $17.53 an hr. All members voting yes. Agenda Item 1: Building permit applications. Mary Roiland 109 S 2nd St old Methodist Church Motion by Earney seconded by Jepsen to accept the permit as presented pending Historical Preservation approval. All members voting yes. Agenda Item 2: Building permit violations. None. Agenda Item 3: Operator Licenses. None. Agenda Item 4: Library matters. Jepsen acknowledged that the library was awarded a Virtual Living Room Grant through the Foundation for Rural Services, sponsored by Cochrane Co-op Telephone, of $4,481. Advertisement for Bids for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE). Motion by Iberg seconded by Earney to approve subject to approval of Council. All members voting yes. Agenda Item 6: V ouchers/bills. Motion by Iberg seconded by Earney to adjourn. All members voting yes.
