Services Minutes 01/06/2026

1 January 6, 2026 SERVICES COMMITTEE 9:00 a.m. Chairperson Loren Mueller called the meeting to order with the following members present: Gary Jepsen and David Earney. Also present: Mayor Richard Champeny, Foreman Joe Wick, Emily Rybarczak-Police Department, Ken Passow-Code Enforcement Officer, Tom Brakke and Ben Schams Alma Fire Department, Justin Sass Western Buffalo County Ambulance Service, and Clerk-Treasurer Sharaya Reed. Agenda Item 1: Cemetery concerns. The new signs are up at both cemeteries. Agenda Item 2: Fire and ambulance concerns. The UTV was delivered. Will be used for trail rescues as it has tracks on it. The ambulance reported that there were no concerns over coverage of calls. Agenda Item 3: Police concerns. Officer Rybarczyk provided the committee with a yearly report of calls and activity. She stated that there were 2,009 calls and 711 calls for the City of Alma since she started in June. Parking violations are being dealt with. There are no issues. Agenda Item 5: Solid Waste and recycling. Discussion over keeping service provided to residents. Could go down to one day. Motion by Jepsen seconded by Earney to adjourn. All members voting yes.
