BUFFALO COUNTY MINUTES Committee of the Board: Economic Development Committee Date of the Meeting: Thursday, April 16, 2026 Call to Order: Meeting called to order at 10:30 a.m. Board Members Present: Mr. John Hadley, Mr. Gary Stanton, Ms. Mary Anne McMillan Urell, Mr. Brian Michaels, and Mr. Michael Taylor. Others Present for All or Part of the Meeting : Mr. Lee Engfe r and Ms. Jacqueline Schneider. Public Comments Regarding Agenda Items: None. Previous Meeting Minutes: Mr. Taylor made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 19, 2026, meeting, seconded by Ms. McMillan Urell. Carried. Update on Goals: Mr. Engfer stated that Mr. Carlson continues to work on the webpage and Facebook with a roll out for Facebook on April 27 th. Members of the committee were encouraged to attend the business visits with Mr. Carlson. Ms. McMillan Urell provided an update on Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission (MRRPC). Also, MRRPC will be requesting $8,019.00 for the 2027 budget. Ms. Schneider spoke on a map that she has made for community events and shared it with the committee. Flyway Trail Update: No significant updates to report on. New Business Update: Mr. Taylor attended the Monroe County Tourism Conference and brought back some ideas and information. Discussion on possibly having a regional conference in our area, possibly with Winona, Minnesota. Chairperson Report: Chair Hadley thanked the members of the committee for their service and the progress they made. Mr. Hadley also expresses interest in being a citizen on the new Economic Development Committee. County Administrator Report: Mr. Engfer thanked Mr. Hadley and Ms. McMillan Urell for their contributions to the committee. Public Comments Unrelated to Agenda Items: None.
