BUFFALO COUNTY MINUTES Committee of the Board: Land Management Committee Date of the Meeting: Friday, February 6th, 2026 The Public Hearing was called to order at 8:00 a.m. Land Management Committee Members Present: Mr. Max Weiss, Mr. Chris Lindstrom, Mr. Robert Sendelbach. Mr. William Bruegger, Mr. Gary Stanton, Absent-Mr. Joe Bragger Others Present for All or Parts of the Meeting: Ms. Jacqueline Schnieder, Mr. Ron Jasperson, Mr. Lee Engfer, Mr. Cale Severson, Ms. Abigail Soderberg, Mr. Alex Dunlevy, Mr. Alec Sundelius Reading of the Notice for Public Hearing and S&J Properties Rezone Application: Mr. Dunlevy read the information that was published in the Buffalo County News on January 15th and 22nd Public Testimony Regarding the Rezone Application: none Correspondence Regarding the Rezone Application: A town’s acknowledgement form had been submitted in favor of the rezone. Adjournment of the Public Hearing: Mr. Bruegger made a motion to adjourn the public hearing at 8:06 a.m. Mr. Stanton second, adjourned. Chair Max Weiss called the Land Management Committee meeting to order at 8:07 a.m. Land Management Committee Members Present: Mr. Max Weiss, Mr. Chris Lindstrom, Mr. Robert Sendelbach. Mr. William Bruegger, Mr. Gary Stanton, Absent-Mr. Joe Bragger Others Present for All or Parts of the Meeting: Ms. Jacqueline Schnieder, Mr. Ron Jasperson, Mr. Lee Engfer, Mr. Cale Severson, Ms. Abigail Soderberg, Mr. Alex Dunlevy, Mr. Alec Sundelius Public Comment—none Review/Discussion/Action regarding Previous Meeting Minutes: Mr. Lindstrom motioned to table, Mr. Bruegger second, Tabled Review/Discussion/Action regarding An Ordinance to Amend the Official “Buffalo County Zoning District Map” – Town of Milton: Mr. Stanton made a motion to approve the Rezone, second by Mr. Sendelbach. Carried. Review/Discussion/Action regarding Wildlife Services Report—Mr. Alec Sundelius of Wildlife Services came to update the committee on his work in the County. There are very few enrollees in the shooting program as they would have to open their land to public hunting. He discussed that 29 deer were brought to the only venison donation hub in the county-=Eagle Peak Processing. Most of the wildlife damage claims have been bear damage to apiaries. Review/Discussion/Action regarding LWRM Questionnaire and Answers—Mr. Severson presented the questions and answers that were written for the LWRMP 5-year revision process. Mr. Stanton motioned to approve the answers, Mr. Lindstrom seconded. Carried. Review/Discussion regarding the Surveyor’s Report: Mr. Jasperson gave an update on remonumentation in Maxville. Discussions were held on Towns of Nelson needing to be remonumented and Buffalo and Alma needing maintenance of monuments. Review/Discussion regarding the GIS/LIO Report: Ms. Schneider introduced herself and spoke on learning her position and some work accomplishments Review/Discussion regarding the Land Management Director/ County Conservationist Report: Mr. Severson spoke on finishing the 9 Key Element plan for the Bear Creek Watershed. Review/Discussion regarding the Chairperson Report: Mr. Weiss and Mr. Engfer spoke on some structures on Riverland Energy property. Review/Discussion/Action regarding the Next Meeting Date and Time: The next meeting will be March 13th at 8 am Public Comments Not Related to Agenda Items: none Adjournment: Mr. Stanton made a motion to adjourn at 9:20 a.m. Adjourned.
