VILLAGE OF FOOTVILLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2026 MINUTES 1. The February 12, 2026, meeting of the Economic Development Committee was called to order by Chairman Bob Selck. Committee members present: Bob Selck, Danielle Harnack, Brian Givens, Chuck Duncan, and Dick Laws. Also present: Roland Nath, David Wells, and Julia Engler. 2. B. Selck will discuss plans for the new park restrooms and layout and possible grant: Bob Selck discussed restroom options. The committee decided to put in a men’s stall, women’s stall, and a family stall. They will be ADA compliant. There were different opinions on putting the concession in it or building a new one in the grandstand area. Chuck brought a drawing so we could get an idea of what it would look like. Bob Selck would like the committee to bring sketches of the park and the bathrooms to our next meeting. There was also discussion on where the restroom building should be located. To help with the cost, it needs to be where there is sewer and water. Options are: 1. When you walk in the park – it would be where the water fountain is. 2. Tear down the stone pavilion and build them there. 3. Behind the grandstand when you first walk in. At this time it is being marked off at the water fountain. Some people do not want the historic stone pavilion removed and the area behind the grandstand would take away the view. The grant was turned down. Bob Selck will keep working on them. 3. Update on ball diamond upgrade: Julia Engler will try to get a quote from another company to see if we can get a better price for the diamond upgrade. Brian Givens is also working on some better pricing with more upgrades. They will bring them to the next meeting. 4. Plans for taking over the Viking Youth Concession stand: Danielle Harnack, Brian Givens, and Julia Engler are working with the Viking Youth to see how we can make our park more appealing. They would like our non-profit to take over the concession stand. We will be meeting on this. 5. Status of the non-profit Friends of the Footville Parks: The government has not sent the non-profit approval yet. 6. Chuck Duncan will discuss quote from Bjoin for removal of grandstand: Chuck Duncan received a quote from Bjoin to tear down and remove the grandstand. It was around $18,000. Chuck is checking a few more places. 7. Ideas for this year’s Non-Profit Parks Fundraiser/Parks Committee Fundraiser and what should be purchased: The non-profit will meet on ideas for fundraisers, especially for the 100 th Park anniversary. 8. Discuss Request For Proposal for contractors: Bob Selck has 9 developers to meet with for the new subdivision. Brian Givens has a local builder he would like added to the list. 9. Discussion, ideas, or concerns from Committee Members: Julia Engler would like to have a contest on the best grandstand design. 10. SET FUTURE MEETING DATE: The next meeting will be February 23, 2026, at 6:00 pm. 11. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn the meeting by Dick Laws, 2nd by Chuck Duncan. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 pm.
