Members Present: Jim Gebauer, Rollie Thums, Karen Cummings, Diane Albrecht, and Darrell Thompson Members Absent: None Other Attendees: Jim Metz, Bud Suckow, Kate Metz, Jeff & Kathy Hemer, Patti Smith, Kyle Noonan and Sue Noland Noonan read the public hearing notice that was posted in the Star News on February 27 and March 6. No written comments were received. The Shoreland Zoning ordinance is being repealed and recreated due to changes in State law from Act 68, Act 105 and Act 200. The Shoreland Zoning ordinance affects property within 1,000 feet of a navigable lake, pond or flowage; or within 300 feet of navigable rivers and streams. Some of the questions from the public in attendance were how the ordinary high -water mark is determined, limit of 200 square foot additions, and whether the ordinance affects any size body of water. Also discussed other changes for view corridor, fences, definitions section and averaged setbacks. There is also an opportunity to request a variance from the Board of Adjustment if requirements are met. Zoning Administrator indicated the ordinance should be amended to include Side Yard Setbacks. This was omitted in preparing the revised ordinance. Section 31.07 should include: A side yard setback for a principal structure shall be a minimum of ten feet from each adjacent lot. A side yard setback for an accessory structure, excluding fences, shall be a minimum of five feet from each adjacent lot. With no further questions or discussions, the public hearing was adjourned at 9:22 AM, by motion of Thompson/Albrecht. Motion carried. Kyle Noonan Zoning Administrator
