Hager to revise and bring back to the committee. Weather Shield hangar update: The paperwork has been signed and check delivered. Colwell now has the keys. Hangar repair update: Repairs are complete. Finance just needs a W-9 from the vendor to pay the invoice. Airport resolution update: Signed by Airport and Finance Committees and will go to the County Board on January 6th. Vouchers: Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Swiantek, to approve the vouchers as presented. Maintenance hangar by FBO needs roof, discuss getting bids, payment for repair: Colwell said that Maintenance suggested getting quotes to repair the roof, or do we look to replace the building? For clarification, the building is the terminal, not the FBO (Fixed Base Operator). There was discussion about where we would get the most benefit. A terminal would be nice but won’t generate revenue like a hangar will. Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Albrecht, to approve getting three quotes for the terminal roof. Motion carried. Other airport related comments: Carl Kemper once again discussed the T-hangar project with the committee. It would cost the county $100,000, for a $1,000,000., 3 bay rectangular box hangar, which could bring in about $200/bay revenue, paying off the county’s investment in less than 14 years. This money is available in our BIL and entitlement funds to be spent on Airport Improvement projects. Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Hall, to move forward with the hangar project. Motion carried. Kemper also suggested that we compare rates and services for leases at other airports, namely Marshfield and Neillsville. He will also share a BOA report with lease information. A portion of the runway is being seal coated by Fahrner, but the taxi lanes between the hangars still needs to be crack sealed. Fahrner can do it but would need a check for $3,000, today. Zenner called Stanfley to see if the Highway Department can do it in the coming weeks. Stanfley said they can do it for approximately the same amount in two weeks. Motion by Albrecht, seconded by Swiantek, to have the Highway Department crack seal the area between the hangars in two weeks. Motion carried. Airport Coordinator update: Colwell reported fuel sales of Fuel Sales of low lead fuel; 596 gallons for $3,217.11 and Jet A; 155 gallons for $744.00 for a total of $3,961.11 in fuel sales. Colwell also got the furnace parts needed for the terminal building. 2025 budget approval: The only change, suggested by Hartwig, was to remove $1,000., from the phone line of the budget, as that is covered by IT. Motion by Swiantek, seconded by Hoffman, to approve the budget as amended. Motion carried. Adjourn: Motion by Albrecht, seconded by Hall, to adjourn. There was much discussion about the possibility of adding a 3-bay hangar, with a cost of $1,000,000.00 for $100,000.00 by using these grant funds. The potential rent of $300.00 a month for each bay would recoup the investment in about 8 years. Many other ideas were discussed, including adding a ground power unit, de-icing capability and an airport tug, to enhance our offerings and add revenue. Sue Swiantek left at 1:45 p.m. Amber Epperle offered a suggestion to have a vendor/craft event at the airport to promote it and get more people out there.
